Spinal Injections


There are a variety of spinal injections that are simple, safe and effective for treating disorders of the spine.


Electrodiagnostic Studies


This is a diagnostic study that is made up of two parts.

EMG is the abbreviation for the electromyography portion of the study.

NCV is the abbreviation for nerve conduction velocity study.


Trigger Point Injections


Trigger Point Injections (TPI) These injections may be an option in treating pain for some patients.

TPI is a procedure used to treat painful areas of muscle that contain trigger points, or knots of muscle that form when muscles do not relax.


Joint Injections


In its early stages, some of the more common options include changes in activity level, pain relievers such as ibuprofen or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), along with physical therapy, and corticosteroid injections.

Alison D. Barrack, MD is a board certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of spine, nerve, joint, and musculoskeletal joint disorders.

Dr. Barrack developed  Barrack Spine and Joint Medicine in 2009 to provide a more intimate environment in which to treat her patients. Improvement in patient communication and a partnership with her patients in their well being was a personal goal and one which she felt was necessary in providing quality medical care.
